We help our clients understand their information technology needs, manage the change required, and deliver on solutions either directly or as the vendor management team.

GVC’s head office is located in the Gastown area of Vancouver BC and with consultants also working in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario. The company currently has 45+ technical, consulting and project management staff / contractors and plans to add additional staff and consulting resources in 2012.

Overall Position Description

These positions require individuals, who are able to collect business requirements from multiple sources, and then critically evaluate information gathered, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying business needs. These individuals interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements; collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs. They are the liaison between the business community and technical solution providers.

The skills and experience we require include:

  1. Post-secondary education in Health Informatics, Information Management or Information Technology (or equivalent)
  2. Intermediate Business Analysts require 3+ years of business analysis experience in the healthcare industry
  3. Senior Business Analysts require 7+ years of business analysis experience in the healthcare industry
  4. Collection, documentation and analysis of the current state and the future state of clinical processes by means of documenting business process flows and models in collaboration with multi-disciplinary stakeholders
  5. Analysis of process gaps, information flow obstacles and identification of opportunities for increased efficiency
  6. Ability to document requirements in use case format and create process models using UML modeling techniques
  7. Experience in software development lifecycle activities in an integrated technical environment
  8. Strong leadership and ability to facilitate focus groups to determine requirements and priorities
  9. Manage assigned project activities to meet the timelines, budget and stakeholder requirements set out in work breakdown structures, project schedules and other related plans (e.g. test, quality, training).
  10. Reporting activity status to a management level
  11. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  12. The ability to effectively deal with remote teams and users
  13. Ability to travel and reside in Saskatchewan
